The Hippocampus is located deep within the inner brain and plays a critical role in filing memories, and sending them to other parts of the brain for long-term storage and retrieval.

In a fascinating report from the BBC, from The Mind’s Eye program, correspondent Susan Greenfield tells us that when it comes to perception of the world around us, the brain relies as heavily on memory as it does from our eyes.
