Neo-Cortex

The "new brain" or neo-cortex is divided in two hemispheres and takes up nearly three-quarters of the brain’s mass. The thoughts that make us uniquely human—such as personality and logic—occur here. This part of the brain controls higher functions like sensory perception, the generation of motor commands, spatial reasoning, conscious thought and language.
